The core of my art practice is time spent exploring the outdoors in search of scenes that stir my spirit. I often paint outdoors on location, aka “plein air”, where I study nature and learn how color and light coalesce into that which I find beautiful. When I am back in the studio, I use these paintings in combination with my photo references as a point of departure for more exploratory work.
